Feta cheese – the white treasure of Greece
Feta is more than just a cheese—it's a true piece of Greek culture. In our Araxxon shop, you'll find a fine selection of authentic Greek feta cheese, ideal for salads, warm dishes, or simply enjoyed on its own with a little olive oil.
What is feta?
Feta is a white cheese made from sheep's and goat's milk that matures in brine for at least two months. Its flavor is slightly salty, creamy, and pleasantly fresh—with a delicate acidity. Only cheese produced according to traditional methods in Greece may officially be called "feta" (protected designation of origin – PDO).
What should you pay attention to when buying?
A good feta should:
- come from Greece
- matured in brine
- contain at least 70% sheep's milk
- be vacuum packed or packed in brine
In the Araxxon range you will find products from well-known manufacturers such as Dodoni and Bafas.
